Record 102 Job Fairs on Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis’ Birthday: 57,000 Registered, 27,000 Youths Employed in a Single Day

In a monumental initiative to empower youth and create mass employment opportunities, the Government of Maharashtra organized a record-breaking 102 Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Job Fairs across the state on the occasion of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’ birthday. The single-day event saw over 57,000 job seekers register, with more than 27,000 candidates successfully securing employment, marking a significant milestone in the state’s skill and employment mission.

The initiative was led by the Department of Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship, under the guidance of Skill Development Minister Shri Mangal Prabhat Lodha, who personally addressed attendees at one of the key job fairs held at Sharda Mandir High School, Gamdevi, Mumbai.

A Career-Defining Birthday Gift for Maharashtra's Youth

Speaking at the event, Minister Lodha said, “We wanted to make this birthday of Hon. Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis ji truly unforgettable—not just for him, but for thousands of youth across Maharashtra who are at the beginning of their professional journeys.” He further emphasized that the Chief Minister’s strong commitment to youth empowerment and employment has laid the foundation for such impactful initiatives.

“This is not just a celebration,” Lodha added, “It’s a new chapter in the lives of thousands of young men and women who are now walking away with job offers, confidence, and hope.”

Over 100 Job Fairs Held in One Day

The event was jointly organized by the District Skill Development, Employment and Entrepreneurship Guidance Centre, Mumbai City, and Sharda Mandir High School, with active participation from both private sector companies and public corporations.

Across Maharashtra, over 100 job fairs were held in a single day, making it one of the largest coordinated employment drives in the country. At the Gamdevi venue alone, around 500 young candidates registered for job interviews, and 25 organizations, including five government-linked corporations, participated in the fair.

Opportunities Across Sectors

These job fairs provided employment opportunities in diverse and high-growth sectors, including:

  • Information Technology
  • Insurance and Banking
  • Logistics and Transportation
  • Management and Consulting
  • Industrial and Manufacturing Sectors
  • Service and Retail Industries

Many companies also offered on-the-spot offer letters, while others shortlisted candidates for further rounds. Apart from job placements, career counselling booths and informational kiosks helped attendees understand self-employment schemes, government benefits, and skill training opportunities.

A Long-Term Vision for Youth Empowerment

Highlighting the broader impact of the initiative, Minister Lodha said, “Thousands of dreams are being realized today. This is not a one-time event. Under the visionary leadership of our Chief Minister, we will continue to hold such job fairs, ensuring that Maharashtra’s youth never lack opportunities.”

The fairs were not limited to urban centres. Events were held in both cities and rural districts, ensuring inclusivity and outreach to remote areas where employment support is often harder to access.

Holistic Support Beyond Employment

In addition to job matching, the Department also focused on awareness and guidance. Assistant Commissioner Shailesh Bhagat from the Skill Development Department informed attendees about ongoing government schemes, skill enhancement programs, and training centers that offer youth further tools to advance their careers.

Skill Development Guidance Officers Vidya Shinge and Mukesh Sankhe were present to support and guide participants at the Gamdevi event. They shared valuable insights on job-readiness, resume building, and how to leverage available government support for entrepreneurship.

Looking Ahead

The job fairs underlined Maharashtra’s commitment to youth employment and entrepreneurship. With thousands of new job seekers entering the market every month, initiatives like these are helping bridge the gap between industry demand and workforce supply.

The success of this mega event shows what’s possible when the government, private sector, and educational institutions come together with a common purpose—to create a future where every youth has a pathway to success.

As Maharashtra continues to evolve into a growth and innovation hub, such initiatives reinforce the state’s position as a leader in inclusive development and youth empowerment.
