The traffic advisory specifies that the movement of Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) is completely prohibited on both southbound and northbound carriageways of the Western Express Highway (WEH) from Vakola Flyover to Dahisar Toll Naka between 2 pm and 9 pm today.
Motorists have been urged to plan their journeys accordingly and use alternative routes where possible to avoid delays. The traffic police have also requested citizens to cooperate with law enforcement personnel deployed along major routes leading to the NESCO Exhibition Centre.

Weather Alert: Rain Likely to Continue

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast continued unseasonal rainfall for Mumbai and surrounding areas. A yellow alert remains in effect for the city until 8:30 am on Thursday, October 30, with thunderstorms, lightning, and moderate rain expected to persist through the night.

The weather agency has extended similar alerts for Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg districts, advising residents to remain cautious, especially in low-lying areas prone to waterlogging. For Palghar district, the yellow alert is extended further until the morning of Friday, October 31.

The combination of rain and traffic restrictions could result in slower movement across parts of the city during the afternoon and evening hours. Commuters are advised to factor in extra travel time and stay updated through official traffic and weather advisories.
