The Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) has approved a ₹64 lakh proposal to prepare a comprehensive Climate Action Plan (CAP), marking an important step toward creating a greener, cleaner, and more climate-resilient city. The decision was approved during the corporation's general body meeting and aims to help Panvel address the growing challenges of climate change through long-term planning.

The civic body will appoint an independent expert agency to develop the Climate Action Plan, which is expected to be completed within the next 18 months.

Climate Action Plan to Guide Panvel's Future Development

The new Climate Action Plan will serve as a long-term roadmap for sustainable urban development. Unlike the city's annual Environmental Status Report, which reviews existing environmental conditions, the CAP will focus on future climate risks and provide practical solutions for the next five to twenty years.
