Central Railway Announces Weekly Panvel–Alipurduar Amrit Bharat Express From February 23

Mumbai: In a major boost to long-distance rail connectivity, the Central Railway has announced the launch of regular weekly services of the Panvel–Alipurduar–Panvel Amrit Bharat Express starting February 23, 2026.

The train’s inaugural run was recently flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a formal event, marking another addition to the expanding Amrit Bharat network aimed at improving affordable long-distance travel.

Service Schedule & Timings

The weekly service will operate under the following schedule:

  • Train No. 11032 (Alipurduar to Panvel)
  • Departure: 04:45 AM every Thursday (from February 26, 2026)
  • Arrival at Panvel: 05:30 AM on the third day

The return service from Panvel to Alipurduar will also run on a weekly basis, connecting Maharashtra to West Bengal while traversing multiple states across central and eastern India.

Extensive Route Coverage

The train will halt at several key stations, strengthening inter-state connectivity. Major stops include:

Kalyan, Nashik Road, Jalgaon, Bhusaval, Itarsi, Jabalpur, Katni, Satna, Prayagraj Cheoki, Mirzapur, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, Buxar, Ara, Danapur, Patliputra, Hajipur, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Katihar, Kishanganj, New Jalpaiguri, Siliguri, Binnaguri and Hasimara, among others.

The service is expected to benefit passengers travelling between Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal.

Coach Composition

The Panvel–Alipurduar Amrit Bharat Express will consist of:

  • 08 Sleeper Class coaches
  • 11 General Second Class coaches
  • 01 Pantry Car
  • 02 Luggage-cum-Guard Brake Vans

The composition highlights the train’s focus on affordable mass transportation, catering primarily to sleeper and unreserved passengers.

Reservation & Booking Details

Advance reservations for Train No. 11031 will open from February 19, 2026, at computerised reservation centres and via the official booking portal of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC).

Unreserved tickets can be purchased through the UTS system at standard charges.

Strengthening Long-Distance Rail Network

The introduction of this weekly Amrit Bharat Express is expected to ease passenger load on existing long-distance trains while providing improved connectivity between western India and the northeastern corridor.

Railway officials believe the new service will particularly benefit migrant workers, business travellers, and families undertaking cross-country journeys.

With enhanced connectivity and structured scheduling, the Panvel–Alipurduar Amrit Bharat Express is set to become a key long-haul rail link beginning February 23.
