A Boost for Ganpati Devotees
Ganesh Chaturthi, one of Maharashtra’s most revered festivals, attracts massive movement of passengers—especially from Mumbai and Pune to Konkan towns like Ratnagiri, Khed, Chiplun, and Sawantwadi. These additional trains are expected to ease congestion, ensure timely travel, and offer affordable options for devotees returning home for the ten-day celebrations.
The initiative highlights the Indian Railways’ commitment to managing festive passenger rush effectively through advance planning and logistical preparedness. The proactive decision by Central Railway ensures that no devotee is left stranded due to lack of transportation during the auspicious Ganpati season.
