Maharashtra Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha Urges Industries to Create More Jobs for Maharashtra Youth

Maharashtra Skill Development, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha has urged industries and businesses to play a stronger role in creating employment opportunities for young people across the state.

Speaking ahead of the September 29 Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay World Record Employment Mahakumbh, Lodha said employment generation should be viewed as a shared social responsibility. He encouraged companies to provide more job opportunities and support young candidates with the skills and confidence needed to succeed in the workplace.

Employer Round Table Held Ahead of September 29 Job Fair

The minister was speaking at an employer round table organized by the Skill Development Department and the Mumbai Suburban District Collectorate at the District Collector’s Office in Bandra East, Mumbai.

The meeting was held as part of preparations for the upcoming Employment Mahakumbh, which will take place across Maharashtra on September 29.

Lodha said the state has a large number of young people looking for work, while industries continue to have vacancies in several sectors. He pointed out that skill gaps and a lack of confidence during job interviews can prevent qualified young people from securing suitable positions.

He called on industries to help bridge this gap by creating more opportunities and supporting skill development programs for job seekers.

32 Industries Join Employment Discussion

Representatives from the human resources departments of 32 reputed industries and establishments attended the employer round table.

Lodha asked participating companies to provide details of their current and upcoming vacancies to the Skill Development Department. This information can help officials identify suitable candidates and provide training based on the actual requirements of employers.

He emphasized that better coordination between industries, training institutions and government agencies can make it easier for young people to find jobs that match their skills.

Focus on Skills and Interview Confidence

The minister highlighted the growing importance of skill-based employment in today's job market. He said young people with practical skills can access better-paying jobs and may also find opportunities to build careers overseas.

Lodha also encouraged industries to look beyond their immediate hiring needs and contribute to the wider development of Maharashtra by helping young people become job-ready.

He said the youth of Maharashtra need support, cooperation and access to the right opportunities. He also appealed to businesses across the state to register for the employment fair and take part in the initiative.

Industries Encouraged to Register for Employment Mahakumbh

The Skill Development Department has started an online registration facility for industries and establishments interested in participating in the September 29 employment fair.

Companies have been encouraged to register as early as possible and share their job requirements with the department. Businesses facing technical problems during registration can contact the Skill Development Department or their respective District Collector’s Office for assistance.

Commissioner of Skill Development Amit Saini gave a presentation on the upcoming employment fair. Mumbai Suburban District Collector Saurabh Kataria was also present at the meeting.

The initiative aims to bring employers and job seekers together and provide Maharashtra’s youth with greater access to career opportunities, skill development and employment.
