Shiv Sena Launches Mission Gen Z to Connect Young Leaders with Maharashtra’s Youth

Shiv Sena has launched Mission Gen Z, a new initiative focused on understanding the aspirations, concerns and expectations of young people across Maharashtra. The program aims to create a stronger connection between the younger generation and the government by bringing young public representatives into direct discussions on key issues.

Over 250 Young Representatives Join Mumbai Interaction Camp

More than 250 elected representatives between the ages of 20 and 30 took part in a youth interaction camp held in Mumbai. The participants came from both urban and rural areas of Maharashtra and included corporators, mayors, municipal council presidents, Panchayat Samiti members, Zilla Parishad representatives and young leaders from the cooperative sector.

The discussions focused on issues that directly affect young people, including employment, education, sports, skill development, technology and career opportunities.

Shrikant Shinde Highlights Role of Young Leaders

Shiv Sena MP and Parliamentary Party leader Dr. Shrikant Shinde guided the participants during the program. He said young elected representatives can play an important role in connecting the party and government with the younger generation.

He described the young representatives as important ambassadors who can understand local concerns and help bring those concerns into policy discussions. Their regular interaction with students and other young people could help identify practical solutions to challenges faced across Maharashtra.

Youth Groups Share Ideas From Across Maharashtra

The participants were divided into 20 groups, with each group having around 10 to 12 representatives. The arrangement allowed young leaders from different regions to share their experiences and discuss the issues affecting their communities.

The discussions covered challenges faced by young people in Konkan, Vidarbha, Marathwada and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Participants also considered how solutions could be adapted according to the needs of different districts and communities.

Each group was asked to identify important youth-related issues and suggest steps that could be taken within the next 30 days to improve engagement with the younger generation.

Employment, Sports and Skill Development Among Key Priorities

Several suggestions emerged during the discussions. Young representatives called for better sports facilities, including sports complexes and playgrounds, along with improved libraries and study centers.

They also highlighted the need for stronger career guidance, employment support, skill development centers and dedicated employment portals. Youth festivals in colleges were suggested as another way to encourage participation and provide young people with opportunities to showcase their talents.

Other ideas included de-addiction programs, self-defense training for women, foreign-language education in Zilla Parishad schools and greater use of social media and new technology to communicate with young people.

Mission Gen Z to Focus on Policy and Training

Shinde said Shiv Sena plans to continue training young public representatives and create more opportunities for direct interaction with Gen Z and Gen Alpha.

The suggestions received during the Mumbai camp will be presented to the government for consideration and possible policy action. The initiative will also focus on maintaining regular communication with students and young people rather than limiting engagement to one-time programs.

Employment, education, examination-related concerns, sports infrastructure and skill development were among the major areas identified for continued attention.

Minister of State Yogesh Kadam also guided the participants during the training camp.

Next Mission Gen Z Camp Planned After 30 Days

As part of the next phase of Mission Gen Z, Shiv Sena plans to organize another training and interaction camp after 30 days. The party intends to prepare short-term, medium-term and long-term strategies based on feedback from young representatives.

The initiative is expected to give youth representatives a larger role in identifying local priorities and strengthening youth-focused governance across Maharashtra.
