Mumbai RTO To Launch New MH01FL Two-Wheeler Registration Series From August 10

Mumbai RTO (Central) will begin the MH01FL registration series for private two-wheelers on August 10 as the current MH01FK series is almost fully used

The Regional Transport Office (RTO), Mumbai Central, is preparing to introduce a new vehicle registration series for private two-wheelers. The MH01FL registration series will officially begin from August 10, replacing the existing MH01FK series as available numbers are nearing exhaustion.

The move will allow new two-wheeler owners to register their vehicles under the new series. Those looking for a preferred or fancy registration number can also apply for their desired number by following the prescribed RTO process.

MH01FL Registration Series Starts August 10

The Mumbai Central RTO will open the MH01FL vehicle registration series for private two-wheelers from August 10. Vehicle owners interested in securing a special registration number must submit their applications by 12 noon on the same day.

Applications must be submitted in the prescribed format along with the required fee at Counter E-11 of the RTO office. Officials have arranged staff at the counter to guide applicants through the registration number reservation process.

The introduction of MH01FL comes as the current MH01FK series is close to being exhausted, making the new series necessary for upcoming two-wheeler registrations.

Fancy Number Applications Must Be Submitted By Noon

Applicants who want a preferred or fancy registration number should make sure their applications reach the RTO before the deadline.

The facility is available under the Maharashtra Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, subject to payment of the applicable charges. Applicants can select a preferred number based on availability and complete the required formalities at the RTO.

Those interested in a special number are advised to submit their applications early to avoid missing the deadline.

Same Number Requested By Multiple Applicants Will Go To Auction

If two or more applicants request the same registration number, the number will not be allotted directly to one applicant. Instead, the RTO will conduct an auction.

The auction for numbers receiving multiple applications is scheduled for 2 pm on August 10. This process will help determine the successful applicant for a registration number that has attracted more than one request.

Documents Required For MH01FL Fancy Numbers

Applicants seeking a preferred registration number must submit the required documents along with their application. These include:

  • Photo identity proof
  • Address proof
  • PAN card
  • Vehicle purchase receipt
  • Prescribed application form
  • Applicable registration number reservation fee

Applicants should ensure that their documents are complete and accurate before submitting the application at Counter E-11.

Reserved Registration Numbers Valid For 180 Days

Once a registration number is successfully reserved, it will remain valid for 180 days. The applicant must complete the vehicle registration process within this period.

The reserved number becomes active when the reservation receipt is entered into the VAHAN-04 system during vehicle registration.

This gives vehicle owners sufficient time to complete the remaining registration formalities after securing their preferred number.

RTO Staff To Assist Applicants

To make the process easier, Mumbai RTO (Central) has made application forms available at Counter E-11. Staff members have also been deployed to help applicants understand the procedure and complete the required paperwork.

The new MH01FL series is expected to provide additional registration numbers for private two-wheelers while also giving vehicle owners an opportunity to reserve numbers of their choice through the established process.

Mumbai Two-Wheeler Owners Can Plan Ahead

With the MH01FL registration series starting August 10, private two-wheeler owners in Mumbai Central who want a preferred number should keep their documents ready and submit their applications before the noon deadline.

The auction facility for numbers receiving multiple applications and the 180-day validity of reserved numbers provide a structured process for applicants seeking special registration numbers. The new series also ensures that vehicle registrations can continue smoothly as the existing MH01FK series reaches its limit.
