Mumbai Flower Show 2026 To Return At Byculla Zoo From February 6–8; Free Entry, 5,000 Plants On Display
Mumbaikars can look forward to one of the city’s most vibrant annual events as the Mumbai Flower Show 2026 is set to return to the Veermata Jijabai Bhosale Botanical Udyan and Zoo (Byculla Zoo) from February 6 to February 8. Organised by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in association with the Tree Authority, the three-day floral festival will be open to the public free of cost.
The event aims to celebrate nature, biodiversity and sustainable gardening while offering citizens a refreshing green escape in the heart of the city.
Over 5,000 Plants To Be Displayed
According to civic officials, the flower show will feature around 5,000 plants, showcasing a diverse collection of:
- Seasonal and exotic flowering plants
- Medicinal herbs and species
- Fruit-bearing plants and saplings
The botanical garden will be transformed into a visually striking space filled with vibrant colours, floral fragrances and creative landscaping, making it a major attraction for families, students, photographers and nature enthusiasts.
Floral Recreation Of National Symbols To Be Key Attraction
One of the standout highlights of the Mumbai Flower Show 2026 will be the floral recreation of 13 national symbols of India. These installations are designed not only to impress visually but also to provide educational value, especially for younger visitors.
The themed floral displays are expected to reflect India’s cultural and natural heritage through carefully crafted plant arrangements, a feature that has drawn widespread appreciation in previous editions.
Gardening Stalls And Paid Workshops For Enthusiasts
In addition to the floral exhibits, the festival will host multiple gardening and horticulture stalls, offering:
- Plants and saplings
- Gardening tools and equipment
- Organic fertilisers and soil enhancers
For those interested in learning practical gardening skills, paid workshops will be conducted on all three days. The participation fee for these hands-on sessions has been set at ₹1,000, and they will focus on home gardening, plant care and sustainable practices.
Free Entry Makes Event Accessible To All
With no entry fee, the flower show remains accessible to citizens from all walks of life, including senior citizens, students and families. Civic officials believe the event encourages environmental awareness and promotes a greener urban lifestyle.
The BMC has urged Mumbaikars to take advantage of the free entry and spend time reconnecting with nature during the three-day festival.
A Much-Awaited Annual Event In Mumbai
The Mumbai Flower Show has steadily grown into a much-awaited annual event on the city’s cultural calendar. Last year’s edition witnessed large footfall at Byculla Zoo, with visitors drawn to its colourful installations, creative themes and lush garden settings.
With Mumbai transitioning into warmer days by early February, the 2026 edition is expected to offer a calm and refreshing retreat amid the city’s fast-paced life.
