Mumbai, June 2025 — The untimely death of actor-model Shefali Jariwala, best known for her iconic appearance in the music video "Kaanta Laga" and participation in Bigg Boss 13, has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry and her fans nationwide. She was 42 years old.

Shefali was found unresponsive at her residence in Mumbai’s Andheri area late Friday night. Though early reports speculated cardiac arrest as a possible cause, Mumbai Police has not confirmed any official reason for her death. A forensic investigation is currently underway, and postmortem results are awaited.

 

Found Unconscious at Home, Declared Dead at Hospital



According to Mumbai Police, Shefali Jariwala was found at her apartment in the Golden Rays-Y building, located in Andheri. She was immediately rushed to Bellevue Multispecialty Hospital by her husband Parag Tyagi and three others.

However, as per a statement from hospital staff and a PTI report, Shefali was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician at approximately 11:15 PM on Friday.

“She had no pulse when she was brought in. She was declared dead upon arrival,” a hospital representative said.

 

Forensic Teams Visit the Apartment


The morning after her death, a forensic team from Mumbai Police arrived at Shefali’s residence to examine the scene. A mobile forensic unit, accompanied by senior police officials, was also seen visiting Cooper Hospital, where her body was sent for a postmortem examination.

Authorities have stated that no foul play is suspected as of now, but they are treating the case with all due diligence. The exact cause of death will be known after the forensic and postmortem reports are completed.

 

Security Guard’s Account: “I Opened the Gate for Their Car”

 

In a statement to ANI, the security guard of the building, Shatrughan Mahato, shared his recollection of the evening:

“I saw her and her husband on Thursday. On Friday night, around 10–10:15 PM, I opened the gate for their car. I didn’t see Shefali ma’am, but the vehicle left the premises.”

Mahato added that he was informed about her death around 1 AM, hours after she was taken to the hospital. “It was shocking news for me,” he said.

 

Husband Parag Tyagi Seen Visibly Distraught



Shefali’s husband, actor Parag Tyagi, was seen exiting the hospital late Friday night, visibly shaken and covering his face as he got into a vehicle. In videos shared online, he appears deeply distressed. Later, he was also seen walking his dog in the society compound, accompanied by friends and staff.

The couple, known for their strong bond and public appearances together, had a loyal fan following online. Shefali often posted pictures with Parag and her pet on social media.

Her final social media post in September 2024 was an emotional tribute to Sidharth on his death anniversary, expressing her sorrow and memories of their time together.
