Thane Employment Drive Connects Youth With 156 Employers

Thane district is seeing a major employment push through the Rozgar Mahakumbh 2026, with 14,524 job vacancies available across 43 locations. The district-level initiative has attracted 8,937 registered candidates and 156 participating employers.

Organized by Maharashtra’s Department of Skills Development, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, the employment drive is designed to connect job seekers directly with companies and provide career opportunities closer to their homes.

8,937 Candidates Register for Rozgar Mahakumbh

The Thane employment drive was conducted under the theme “Yuva Shakti Hi Rashtra Shakti,” highlighting the role of young people in the state’s economic growth.

According to district-level figures, 8,937 candidates registered for the drive, while 156 employers offered a combined 14,524 vacancies. Employment fairs and placement activities were held at 43 locations across Thane district.

The initiative gives candidates an opportunity to meet employers, attend interviews and explore jobs across different sectors based on their qualifications and skills.

Main Employment Event Held at Kopri

The main program was held at the Ratan Tata Maharashtra State Skills University employment training center in Kopri, Thane.

Thane District Collector Dr. Shrikrishna Panchal attended the event along with MLAs Sanjay Kelkar and Niranjan Davkhare, District Employment and Skill Development Officer Ravindra More, other government officials and a large number of young job seekers.

The event provided a common platform where candidates could interact directly with companies and learn about available employment opportunities.

Collector Urges Youth to Use Available Job Opportunities

Collector Dr. Shrikrishna Panchal encouraged young job seekers to actively participate in the employment drive and make use of the opportunities offered by participating companies.

He highlighted the importance of bringing established companies closer to eligible candidates so that young people can explore employment opportunities within their own district.

The direct recruitment format also allows candidates to complete different stages of the hiring process, including interviews and selection, through the employment fairs.

Skill Development Remains a Key Focus

Along with creating employment opportunities, the Rozgar Mahakumbh focuses on improving the connection between job seekers and industry requirements.

Young candidates are encouraged to strengthen job-related skills and understand the changing needs of employers. Better alignment between skills and available positions can help candidates explore suitable career opportunities.

MLAs Sanjay Kelkar and Niranjan Davkhare also highlighted the importance of skill development and encouraged young people to build expertise in different areas to expand their employment opportunities.

Employment Fairs Expand Across Konkan and Nashik

The Thane drive is part of a larger employment initiative covering the Konkan and Nashik divisions of Maharashtra. The state government has announced plans for more than 418 employment fairs across the two divisions.

These fairs are intended to provide direct employment opportunities based on candidates’ education, qualifications and skills while creating stronger connections between young job seekers and employers.

With thousands of vacancies available in Thane, district authorities have encouraged more young men and women to participate and explore the opportunities being offered through Rozgar Mahakumbh 2026.
