Global Fintech Fest 2026 to Explore the Future of Digital Finance

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the seventh edition of the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2026 in Mumbai on Tuesday evening. He is scheduled to open the conference at around 5:45 pm and address delegates from India and around the world.

The four-day event, being held in Mumbai from September 8 to 11, will bring together policymakers, regulators, central banks, financial institutions, fintech companies, technology firms, investors and academics.

This year's conference will focus on how emerging technologies can create trusted, connected and inclusive financial systems.

GFF 2026 Theme Highlights Next-Generation Financial Technology

The theme of Global Fintech Fest 2026 is "Potential to Impact: Agentic AI, Tokenisation, Quantum - Trusted, Connected, Global Systems for Inclusive Finance."

The event will examine the growing influence of artificial intelligence, tokenisation, programmable finance and quantum technologies on financial services.

Discussions will also look at how these technologies can move beyond innovation and support practical solutions for consumers, businesses and economies.

India’s Digital Payments Growth in Focus

India's progress in digital payments and financial inclusion will be an important part of the discussions at the Mumbai conference.

The summit is expected to provide a platform for global stakeholders to exchange ideas on building secure and accessible financial systems. Delegates will explore ways technology can expand access to financial services while improving connectivity and trust across the global financial ecosystem.

Agentic AI is also expected to receive significant attention as financial institutions explore more advanced forms of automation and intelligent decision-making.

Tokenization and Quantum Technology Take Center Stage

Tokenization, programmable finance and quantum computing will be among the key technology areas discussed during GFF 2026.

Industry leaders and policymakers are expected to examine how these technologies could change financial transactions, improve efficiency and create new opportunities across banking and fintech.

The conference will also focus on developing systems that can connect technology, capital, policy and regulation while ensuring that innovation remains inclusive and trusted.

PM Modi to Begin Day in Gujarat Before Mumbai Visit

Before travelling to Mumbai, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to visit Vadodara in Gujarat, where he will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for development projects worth more than Rs 35,000 crore.

A major part of the program will include three sections of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor covering 326 route kilometers. The sections have been developed at a cost of more than Rs 20,700 crore.

Their completion is expected to mark the completion of the dedicated freight corridor network along its full length. Modi will also flag off freight train services from four locations on the corridor and a new passenger train connecting Tanda Road and Vadodara.

Major Railway, Highway and Gujarat Development Projects

During his Gujarat visit, Modi will also lay foundation stones for railway and highway projects worth more than Rs 11,000 crore.

Additional Gujarat government projects valued at around Rs 2,600 crore will cover areas including urban infrastructure, housing and water supply.

With the Prime Minister's Mumbai visit bringing global fintech leaders together, GFF 2026 is expected to strengthen discussions around the future of financial technology and India's growing role in the global digital finance landscape.
