Indian Railways Approves Daily CSMT-Sawantwadi Road Express, Strengthening Mumbai-Konkan Travel

In a major boost for rail passengers, Indian Railways has approved a new daily Express train connecting Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in Mumbai with Sawantwadi Road. The new service, which will operate as Train No. 15087/15088, is set to improve travel between Mumbai and the southern Konkan region while offering a faster and more convenient option for thousands of passengers.
Covering a distance of around 510 kilometers, the daily train will enhance connectivity across Maharashtra's scenic Konkan coast by linking important cities and towns through a direct rail service.
22 Stops Across Key Konkan Destinations
The new Express train will halt at 22 stations along its route, making travel easier for people across the region. Major stops include Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Pen, Roha, Mangaon, Khed, Chiplun, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Sindhudurg, Kankavli, Kudal, and Sawantwadi Road, among others.
The expanded connectivity is expected to improve access to several important destinations in Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts while providing passengers with an additional travel option on one of Maharashtra's busiest railway corridors.
