MHADA Konkan Board Housing Lottery: Last Chance for 550 Affordable Homes in Private Projects

The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) Konkan Board is preparing to offer around 1,000 affordable homes through its upcoming housing lottery, giving applicants another opportunity to purchase homes in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

Around 1,000 Homes to Be Offered in November

The upcoming MHADA Konkan Board lottery is expected to include about 550 homes under the 20 percent comprehensive housing scheme and nearly 450 homes under the board's own housing scheme. The lottery is likely to be conducted by the end of November 2026.

The Marketing Department has started preparing the advertisement for the housing lottery. According to Konkan Board Chief Officer Dr. Vishal Rathod, the advertisement is expected to be released within a month, after which the registration and application process will begin.

The initiative comes as part of the continued effort to make affordable housing available to residents across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

Final Opportunity Under the 20 Percent Housing Scheme

The approximately 550 homes under the 20 percent scheme are located in areas including Thane, Kalyan-Dombivli, Vasai-Virar and Navi Mumbai.

These homes are expected to range from around 30 to 40 square meters, or approximately 323 to 431 square feet. Prices are expected to range between Rs. 15 lakh and Rs. 25 lakh, making them an attractive option for families searching for relatively affordable housing in the MMR.

450 MHADA Homes Planned at Chitalsar Manpada

Along with the private developer homes, the lottery will also include around 450 homes from the Konkan Board's own housing scheme at Chitalsar Manpada.

These homes are expected to have an area of approximately 323 to 431 square feet. The reported price for these homes is around Rs. 42 lakh.

Together, the two categories will bring approximately 1,000 homes into the upcoming MHADA Konkan Board lottery.

Application Process Expected to Begin Soon

The board is currently working on the lottery advertisement. Once it is published, applicants will be able to check the eligibility conditions, housing locations, prices, required documents and application schedule.

The registration and application process is expected to be completed before the draw, with the lottery likely to take place by the end of November 2026.

MHADA leadership, including Sanjeev Jaiswal, has continued to emphasize transparent and accessible housing processes as the authority works to expand opportunities for eligible homebuyers.
