MHADA Pune Board Conducts Lottery for 634 Tathawade Phase 2 Homes

Computerized Draw Offers Affordable Housing Opportunities in Pune

The Pune Housing and Area Development Board of the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) conducted a computerized lottery for 634 residential units under Phase 2 of its Tathawade housing project in Pune. The draw was held through a remote system in the presence of Housing Minister Dr. Pankaj Bhoyar and senior MHADA officials.

Pune Housing and Area Development Board Chairman Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil and MHADA Deputy Chief Executive Officer Anil Wankhede joined the program remotely from the ministry. Pune Board Chief Officer Rahul Sakore, Deputy Chief Officer Rahul Shilimkar and other officials attended the event at the Pune Board office.

MHADA Focuses on Affordable and Modern Housing

Housing Minister Dr. Pankaj Bhoyar said the Pune Board has worked to address the housing needs of thousands of families over the past two to three years. He said MHADA is continuing its efforts to develop quality, affordable and well-planned housing in Tathawade and other parts of the Pune metropolitan region.

The Tathawade Phase 2 project has been planned with several modern facilities to improve residents' quality of life. Each residential unit comes with one four-wheeler parking space.

The project also includes a swimming pool, clubhouse, indoor games area, children's play area, open gym, on-grid solar power system, electric vehicle charging facilities and rainwater harvesting.

Commercial Facilities Also Planned at Tathawade

Dr. Bhoyar said MHADA has made special efforts to include modern and environmentally friendly facilities in the project. Construction of commercial shops has already started, while plans for their future sale will be prepared separately.

He added that MHADA will continue working to make more quality and affordable housing available to residents in the coming years.

Under the leadership of MHADA Vice President and CEO IAS Sanjeev Jaiswal, the authority has continued to focus on transparent housing processes and expanding affordable housing opportunities across Maharashtra.

Pune Board Plans More Affordable Homes

Pune Board Chairman Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil said the remaining homes in the Tathawade project are expected to be offered on a priority basis as soon as possible.

He also said a new housing project has been proposed on four acres of land within the Shirur Municipal Council area. In addition, construction of around 400 affordable homes has started on nearly 100 gunthas of land at Kharbawadi Gram Panchayat near Chakan MIDC.

More affordable homes are also expected through redevelopment projects involving older MHADA properties within the Pune Board's jurisdiction.

MHADA Highlights Transparent Computerized Lottery System

MHADA Deputy Chief Executive Officer Anil Wankhede said the authority has conducted computerized lotteries on a large scale during the past two to three years.

A significant number of homes under the 20% Inclusive Housing Scheme have also been offered through these lotteries. He said MHADA plans to continue providing similar affordable housing opportunities to eligible applicants.

Wankhede emphasized that the computerized lottery process is transparent and designed to operate without human intervention, helping ensure a fair selection process.

493 Applicants Participate in Tathawade Phase 2 Draw

Pune Board Chief Officer Rahul Sakore said the income eligibility requirement for Middle Income Group applicants under the scheme has been relaxed.

In April 2026, MHADA had issued an advertisement for 792 homes under Phase 2 of the Tathawade project. This included 24 homes for the Low Income Group and 768 homes for the Middle Income Group.

The Board received 438 applications for the 24 LIG homes and 304 applications for the 768 MIG homes. Following the earlier selection process, 135 successful applicants were identified, and 190 homes from the total 792 units were distributed.

The latest computerized draw covered the remaining 9 LIG homes and 634 MIG homes. A total of 493 applications were received for these units.

Applicants Can Watch the MHADA Lottery Online

To make the process more accessible, MHADA streamed the computerized lottery live through its official YouTube channel, @mhadaofficial. This allowed applicants to follow the draw remotely from their homes.

Executive Engineer Milind Atkale, Estate Manager Ramesh Jayabhaye, Ramchandra Bhise and other MHADA officers and employees were also present during the event.

The Tathawade Phase 2 lottery is another step toward making affordable, well-planned housing available to eligible families in Pune while strengthening MHADA's transparent computerized allotment process.
