50 Winners to Receive ₹10 Lakh Each for Innovation Projects

The Maharashtra government will select 50 winners from the submitted entries. Each selected winner will receive a work order worth ₹10 lakh, with a total allocation of ₹5 crore for implementing their proposed innovations.
This approach will give young innovators an opportunity to develop and execute their ideas instead of limiting their achievements to awards and recognition.
The competition has been launched under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha said the overwhelming response demonstrates the creativity and entrepreneurial potential of the state's youth. He also highlighted the government's goal of making Maharashtra a leading innovation hub in India.
The initiative aims to encourage young people to become entrepreneurs, develop employment opportunities, and create solutions that benefit society.
Innovation Challenge Covers 10 Major Sectors and 50 Sub-Sectors

Maharashtra Expands Support for Young Entrepreneurs Through CM MahaFund
Along with the Seva First Innovation Challenge, the Department of Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation is introducing several initiatives to strengthen the state's startup and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
One of the key initiatives is the CM MahaFund Scheme, which aims to support young innovators and aspiring entrepreneurs through financial assistance and professional guidance.
Under the proposed scheme, selected young individuals will be eligible for collateral-free loans ranging from ₹5 lakh to ₹10 lakh at very low interest rates.
The initiative aims to identify one lakh young individuals from a pool of 30 lakh innovators. It will also provide expert support to help aspiring entrepreneurs establish and grow their startups.
Free Skill Development Courses to Prepare Youth for Future Jobs
The Maharashtra government is also focusing on modern technical education through free short-term courses at Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs).
These courses are designed to help young people learn practical skills and prepare for emerging employment opportunities.
Some of the major training areas include:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Cybersecurity
- Drone Technology
- Electric Vehicle (EV) Technology
- Solar Energy
- Green Hydrogen
- Internet of Things (IoT)
- Additive Manufacturing
- Mobile Repair and Technician Training
- Social Media Influencer Training
These programs aim to make modern technology education more accessible and help young people develop skills that are increasingly important across different industries.
New-Age Technical Courses to Be Introduced at Government ITIs
The department is also introducing advanced technology-based courses at government ITIs in phases.
The new programs will include Solar Technician (Electrical), Electric Vehicle Mechanic, Drone Technician, Additive Manufacturing Technician (3D Printing), AI Programming Assistant, and Industrial Robotics and Digital Manufacturing.
These courses will provide students with practical knowledge of emerging technologies and help prepare them for changing industry requirements.
Maharashtra Plans Stronger Coordination to Build Its Innovation Ecosystem
Another important step involves establishing state-level coordination bodies to connect government and private organizations working in innovation and entrepreneurship.
These bodies will help improve coordination, encourage collaboration, and provide a common direction to innovation-related activities across Maharashtra.
Through the Seva First Innovation Challenge, CM MahaFund Scheme, modern ITI courses, and other initiatives, the state government aims to create more opportunities for young innovators.
With 1.07 lakh registrations and 16,057 ideas already submitted, the challenge marks an important step toward encouraging entrepreneurship, supporting practical innovations, and strengthening Maharashtra's position as a leading innovation destination in India.
