Mumbai Shock: Major Fire In Goregaon High-Rise Claims Senior Citizen’s Life
A tragic incident unfolded in Mumbai on Sunday evening after a Level II fire broke out in a high-rise residential building in Goregaon (East), resulting in the death of a senior citizen.
According to the Mumbai Fire Brigade, the blaze erupted in a sixth-floor apartment of Lakshya Chandi Building, located in Gokuldham Colony.
Fire Breaks Out In Sixth-Floor Apartment
The fire was reported to authorities at around 7:49 pm, and within minutes, it escalated, leading officials to classify it as a Level II (major) fire by 8:20 pm.
The flames were confined to a sixth-floor flat in the ground-plus-24-storey building, but the intensity of the fire required immediate emergency response.
Rescue Operation And Casualty
Firefighters rushed to the scene and managed to rescue a female resident from the affected flat. She was immediately transported to HBT Trauma Care Hospital in a private vehicle.
However, officials later confirmed that a senior citizen lost her life in the incident, highlighting the severity of the blaze.

Multiple fire engines and emergency personnel were deployed to control the situation. Firefighters worked swiftly to contain the flames and prevent them from spreading to other floors of the building.
