Mumbai: A new book documenting stamps, coins and banknotes issued during Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public office has been released this month, offering a visual account of significant programmes, events and milestones associated with his tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister and Prime Minister.
Book Highlights Major National Initiatives
Titled Stamps, Coins, and Banknotes Issued During the Premiership of Shri Narendra Modi, Part 2, the 172-page volume presents commemorative issues associated with several major initiatives and important occasions.
The publication features stamps, coins and currency notes linked to programmes and themes such as Atmanirbhar Bharat, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Covid-19 warriors and 75 years of Indian Independence.
It also covers commemorations marking the 125th birth anniversary of Subhas Chandra Bose, 75 years of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), 100 episodes of Mann Ki Baat, the centenary of Jamshedpur as India’s first industrial township and Siachen Glacier, among several other subjects.
The book arranges these commemorative issues chronologically, providing details of the events and initiatives they represent.
Mintage World Publishes 172-Page Compilation
The compilation has been curated and published by Mintage World, an online museum dedicated to coins, stamps and currency notes.
Sushilkumar Agrawal, publisher and CEO of Mintage World, said the publication was conceived as an effort to preserve a visual record of an important phase in India’s contemporary history through philatelic and numismatic material.
According to Agrawal, stamps, coins and banknotes are everyday objects that can also reflect national achievements, public initiatives and important cultural moments. The publication, he said, is intended not only as a reference collection but also as an introduction to philately and numismatics for younger readers.
Stamps Showcase Diverse Themes and Designs
The stamps featured in the volume vary in size, shape, colour and design, with illustrations representing the initiatives, personalities and themes commemorated through them.
The book also includes details of coins produced at the Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Noida mints. The collection comprises both regular circulation coins and commemorative issues across different denominations.
Coins Minted Across Four Indian Cities
The publication highlights coins produced at mints in Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Noida, covering both circulation and commemorative series.
The inclusion of these issues provides collectors and readers with a chronological look at how important national events and themes have been represented through India's currency and commemorative coinage.
Second Volume Continues the Series
The newly released publication is the second part of the series. The first volume, released last year, focused on stamps, coins and banknotes associated with Narendra Modi’s first term as Prime Minister.
The latest book expands the record to cover a wider period, coinciding with Modi completing 25 years in public office on October 7, marking his tenure as both Gujarat Chief Minister and Prime Minister.
