Maharashtra Plans 300-Acre World-Class SRPF Training Centre in Wardha

Minister Pankaj Bhoyar Directs Officials to Prepare Master Plan for Modern Police Training Hub

The Maharashtra government is planning a major training facility for the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) in Wardha, with the proposed center expected to cover around 300 acres and accommodate nearly 2,000 trainees.

Minister of State for Home (Rural) Dr. Pankaj Bhoyar has directed officials to prepare a detailed master plan for the proposed SRPF Special Training Institute. The project is aimed at creating a modern training hub with advanced facilities, technology-based learning, sports infrastructure and residential amenities for police personnel.

Bhoyar gave the directions during a review meeting at Mantralaya in Mumbai. The meeting focused on the planning and development of the proposed training institute in Wardha.

Senior officials attending the meeting included SRPF Additional Director General Rajkumar Vhatkar, Police Housing Corporation Managing Director Verma, Maharashtra State Police Housing and Welfare Corporation Chief Engineer Dipali Bhaik, Home Department Deputy Secretary Ajit Kawade, Wardha Collector Vanmathi C. and Wardha Superintendent of Police Saurabh Agrawal.

300-Acre SRPF Training Centre to Accommodate 2,000 Trainees

According to the proposal, the Wardha SRPF training center will be developed across approximately 300 acres. The facility is planned to accommodate around 2,000 trainees and provide them with a comprehensive environment for professional and physical training.

The master plan will focus on creating a well-organized campus that supports modern police training while also meeting the future operational requirements of the SRPF.

Modern Training and Sports Facilities Planned

The proposed institute will feature a wide range of academic, training and fitness facilities. These will include modern academic and training blocks, a simulation laboratory, parade ground, drill areas, sports facilities and obstacle-training zones.

Residential and support infrastructure will also form an important part of the project. The plan includes hostels and dining facilities for trainees, along with a medical center and service and utility areas.

Staff facilities, a VIP guest house, auditorium and conference hall are also expected to be included in the campus.

SRPF Museum to Highlight Force's History and Legacy

A key feature of the proposed center will be an SRPF experience center and museum. Bhoyar directed officials to ensure that the facility highlights the history, traditions and achievements of the State Reserve Police Force.

The museum is expected to help younger generations learn about the force, its professional journey and its contribution to public service.

'Stone to Strength' Training Concept

The proposed institute will be developed around the theme "Stone to Strength." The concept compares the process of turning raw stone into a finished and stable structure with the development of police recruits through systematic training.

Under this approach, trainees would progress through different stages of physical conditioning, discipline, testing, skill development and professional preparation.

The idea is to create well-trained police personnel who are physically fit, disciplined, confident and prepared to handle their responsibilities effectively.

Strategic Wardha Location Offers Better Connectivity

The proposed training center is planned at a location around 10 kilometers from Wardha city and approximately 11 kilometers from Wardha railway station. It is also around 75 kilometers from Nagpur.

The location's proximity to the Samruddhi Expressway is expected to support better connectivity to the institute and make access easier for trainees, staff and visitors.

Maharashtra-Style Fort Gateway Planned for Institute

Bhoyar has also directed officials to give the institute a distinctive entrance inspired by a grand fort gateway. The design is intended to reflect Maharashtra's heritage and create a strong identity for the training center.

The minister further instructed officials to ensure that the main road connecting to the institute is 15 meters wide.

He emphasized that the complete project should be planned in a systematic, functional and efficient manner while keeping future expansion and the operational needs of the SRPF in mind.

Wardha Project Could Strengthen SRPF Training Infrastructure

The proposed SRPF Special Training Institute is expected to become an important training hub for police personnel in Maharashtra. With modern classrooms, simulation-based training, sports and obstacle facilities, residential infrastructure and dedicated cultural facilities, the center is designed to support the overall development of recruits.

The project will place emphasis on physical fitness, discipline, professional skills and technology-based training, creating a modern environment for preparing SRPF personnel for their responsibilities.
