KDMC Launches Mission Green at Netivali Hill With Tree Plantation and Waste Segregation Drive
Mission Green KDMC Promotes Greener and Cleaner Public Spaces
The Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has launched its Mission Green KDMC initiative at Netivali Hill, bringing together a tree plantation drive and a waste segregation awareness campaign. The program was organized in partnership with social organizations and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) as part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.
The initiative focused on protecting the environment, increasing green cover and encouraging residents to manage waste responsibly. Organizers also highlighted the importance of community participation in keeping public spaces clean and environmentally friendly.
Tree Plantation Drive Held at Netivali Hill
The plantation campaign aimed to add more greenery to Netivali Hill and encourage citizens to take an active role in protecting local green spaces. The drive carried the message, “Save Trees, Save the Environment, Build the Future,” highlighting the connection between tree conservation and a healthier future.
Along with the plantation activity, participants promoted waste segregation at the source. The campaign encouraged people to separate different types of waste properly before disposal, helping improve waste management practices across the city.
School Students Lead Environmental Awareness Rally
School students played an important role in the campaign by taking part in an awareness rally. Through the rally, students shared messages about protecting trees, keeping surroundings clean and adopting responsible environmental habits.
Their participation helped bring the campaign's message to the wider community and encouraged greater public involvement in environmental activities.
Elected Representatives and Officials Join Campaign
The event was attended by MLA Sulabha Gaikwad, MLA Rajesh More, Mayor Harshali Chaudhary, KDMC Commissioner Abhinav Goyal and Standing Committee Chairman Mallesh Shetty.
Corporators Rekha Rajan Chaudhary, Snehal More, Manisha Gaikwad, Hemlata Pawashe, Saroj Rai and Sanjay More also participated in the program. Representatives from social organizations, civic officials, students and local residents were among those present.
KDMC Focuses on Cleaner and Greener Urban Areas
The Mission Green KDMC campaign brings together the civic administration, corporate organizations, social groups and citizens to promote environmental awareness. The combination of tree plantation and waste segregation gives the initiative a broader focus on both improving green spaces and encouraging better waste management.
The campaign also highlights the role residents can play in protecting public areas. Regular waste segregation, responsible disposal and care for trees can help maintain cleaner surroundings and support greener neighborhoods.
Community Participation Key to Long-Term Environmental Efforts
The Netivali Hill campaign underlines the importance of continued public participation in environmental conservation. While plantation drives can increase green cover, maintaining these spaces and following responsible waste management practices requires ongoing support from citizens.
Through Mission Green KDMC, the civic body and its partners are encouraging people to make environmental responsibility part of their daily habits and work together toward cleaner, greener urban spaces.
