Navi Mumbai Gears Up For Formula 4 Track: Work Speeds Up On Palm Beach Road Amid Traffic Diversions

Construction of a proposed Formula 4 racing circuit in Navi Mumbai has picked up pace, with the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) beginning excavation and on-ground execution along the prominent Palm Beach Road stretch.

The ambitious project, estimated at ₹31 crore, is now moving into an active construction phase, marking a major step toward bringing motorsport infrastructure to the city.

Excavation And Groundwork Underway

Officials confirmed that initial route markings have already been completed, and excavation work has begun across key points along the proposed circuit.

The development comes following directives from city leadership, with civic authorities pushing ahead to fast-track the project.

An NMMC executive engineer stated that groundwork is progressing steadily, indicating that the project has now moved beyond the planning stage.

Traffic Diversions Implemented

To facilitate construction, traffic diversions have been introduced:

• Vehicles are being rerouted from Vaziarani Chowk towards Palm Beach Road
• Commuters are advised to plan alternate routes and expect delays in the area

The diversions are expected to remain in place as construction activity intensifies in the coming weeks.

Proposed Route Covers Key City Landmarks

The Formula 4 circuit is designed to pass through several prominent locations in Navi Mumbai, creating a city-based racing loop.

The proposed route includes:

• Vaziarani Signal (starting point)
• Chanakya Chowk
• Ganpatsheth Tandel Ground
• Jewel of Navi Mumbai
• Zotingdev Ground
• Agri Koli Bhavan

The circuit will eventually loop back to its starting point, forming a complete race track.
