Shiv Sena Launches Statewide Animal Welfare Force to Focus on Stray Identification and Microchipping

The Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena has announced the formation of a statewide Animal Welfare Force to improve the care and protection of pet and community animals across Maharashtra. The initiative will focus on animal identification, vaccination, sterilization, and microchipping, with plans to build dedicated teams across the state.

The announcement was made during the party's Dasara Melava on Tuesday. The new organization aims to bring animal lovers, veterinary doctors, advocates, feeders, and rescuers together to strengthen animal welfare efforts at the local level.

Shiv Sena Animal Welfare Force to Work Across Maharashtra

Initially planned under the party's youth wing as the Yuva Sena Animal Welfare Force, the organization has now been brought directly under the leadership of Shiv Sena.

The revamped initiative will operate under the guidance of party secretary and Maharashtra Legislative Council member Dr. Manisha Kayande. The change received approval from Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Tuesday following discussions with Kayande.

The organization plans to work on identifying stray animals, providing vaccinations, supporting sterilization programs, and promoting microchipping. These measures are expected to help improve animal health, support responsible animal care, and make it easier to identify and track animals.

Dr. Manisha Kayande Highlights the Importance of Animal Welfare

Speaking at the Dasara gathering, Dr. Manisha Kayande emphasized the need to protect animals and provide better care for those that cannot speak for themselves.

She said the Shiv Sena Animal Welfare Force would work dedicatedly for the well-being of animals across Maharashtra. She also thanked the party leadership for approving the initiative.

By bringing animal welfare activities under a statewide organization, the party aims to create a more coordinated approach to protecting pet and community animals.

Animal Welfare Teams Planned Across the State

Sanket Bhatt, the organization's working president, said the initiative would expand beyond Mumbai to reach different parts of Maharashtra.

The organization plans to establish local teams and appoint office bearers across the state. It also aims to train animal lovers, feeders, and rescuers so they can contribute more effectively to animal welfare activities.

The involvement of veterinary professionals and legal experts is expected to provide additional support for animal care, rescue work, and awareness initiatives.

A Statewide Push for Better Care of Community Animals

The formation of the Shiv Sena Animal Welfare Force marks a new step in the party's efforts to expand animal welfare activities across Maharashtra. With a focus on identification, vaccination, sterilization, and microchipping, the initiative aims to encourage more organized and responsible care for animals.

As teams are established across the state, the organization plans to bring more volunteers and professionals into its efforts to support animal health and protection at the community level.
