MHADA Pune Extends Housing Application Deadline to October 30 Due to Document Verification Delays

MHADA Pune has extended the application deadline for its 15% Social Housing Scheme and 20% Inclusive Housing Scheme to October 30, 2026, giving applicants more time to complete the online process. The decision comes as thousands of income and domicile certificates remain under verification, while a technical upgrade to the MahaIT system has delayed document processing.

MHADA Pune Announces Third Extension for Housing Applicants

The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has extended the application deadline for its Pune Board housing schemes for the third time. Applicants can now submit their applications until 11:59 p.m. on October 30, 2026.

The previous deadline was October 22. According to Pune Board Chief Officer Rahul Sakore, the extension was necessary because the online verification of applicants' documents was taking longer than expected. An ongoing upgrade to the MahaIT system also affected the verification process.

The additional time is expected to help applicants complete the required formalities without missing the opportunity to apply for homes under the two housing schemes.

More Than 13,000 Certificates Await Verification

Applicants must upload their domicile certificates, income certificates, and income tax returns (ITRs) through MHADA's IHLMS 2.0 online application system.

The verification process involves different government systems. MahaIT verifies domicile and income certificates, while the Income Tax Department's online system is used to check income tax returns.

According to the reported figures, 4,925 domicile certificates and 8,513 income certificates were awaiting verification. Together, these figures represent 13,438 pending certificates, creating delays for applicants who need their documents approved before completing the application process.

MahaIT had also announced that its website, portal, and mobile application would remain unavailable until October 20 because of system upgrades. This interruption further affected document verification and increased the need for an extension.

Over 1.41 Lakh Applicants Have Paid the Earnest Money Deposit

The Pune Board's housing schemes have attracted considerable interest from homebuyers. As of the latest reported update, 141,417 applicants had paid the required earnest money deposit (EMD).

This figure highlights the strong response to the housing initiative. However, applicants whose documents are still awaiting verification may need additional time to finish the remaining steps.

The extended deadline gives these applicants an opportunity to complete their submissions through the IHLMS 2.0 system. Applicants should ensure that their required documents are uploaded correctly and that they complete all necessary formalities before the revised deadline.

As per the reported announcement, October 30, 2026, is the final application deadline. Applicants should check the official MHADA Pune Board portal for the latest instructions and any further updates.

MHADA Announces Monthly Rental Assistance for GTB Nagar Residents

In a separate housing-related decision, MHADA Vice Chairman and CEO Sanjeev Jaiswal announced monthly rental assistance for eligible residents affected by the GTB Nagar redevelopment project.

The redevelopment is being carried out under a Construction and Development Agreement. Under the announced arrangement, 1,200 evicted residential flat holders will receive ₹20,000 per month, while 121 eligible non-residential flat holders and hut holders will receive ₹10,000 per month.

The rental assistance is scheduled to begin on November 1, 2026.

In addition, 196 conditionally eligible holders will receive rental assistance for the next six months, according to the announcement.

The decision is intended to provide financial support to affected residents during the redevelopment process. The assistance will help eligible families and other occupants manage their housing expenses while the project moves forward.

More Time for Pune Homebuyers and Support for Redevelopment-Affected Residents

The deadline extension for MHADA Pune's social and inclusive housing schemes gives applicants additional time to address document verification delays. With thousands of certificates still awaiting approval, the revised date of October 30 provides an important opportunity for applicants to complete their applications.

Meanwhile, the rental assistance announced for eligible GTB Nagar residents offers financial support to people affected by redevelopment. Together, these measures highlight MHADA's ongoing role in expanding housing access and supporting residents through different stages of housing and redevelopment initiatives.
