Attention Mumbaikars! Major Traffic Curbs Around NESCO Goregaon As PM Modi To Attend Global Maritime CEO Forum On October 29
Mumbai is preparing for a high-security and high-profile event as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit the city on Wednesday, October 29, to address the Global Maritime CEO Forum at NESCO Exhibition Centre, Goregaon (East). The forum is part of the five-day India Maritime Week (IMW) 2025, which began on October 27 with Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurating the event.
The conference will bring together some of the world’s leading maritime executives, policymakers, and investors to deliberate on sustainable maritime growth, port infrastructure, and blue economy strategies. With the Prime Minister’s participation, the event underscores India’s growing prominence in the global maritime sector.
Mumbai braces for PM Modi’s visit and global delegation influx

Authorities expect heavy movement of international delegates and VIPs in and around Goregaon, prompting the Mumbai Traffic Police to implement extensive traffic regulations from October 29 to October 31. The restrictions will remain in effect daily between 8 am and 10 pm, ensuring security and smooth flow around the venue.
According to officials, the Jogeshwari-Goregaon belt will see temporary diversions, while entry to several connecting roads will be regulated. The advisory, issued by the Jogeshwari Traffic Division, urges commuters to plan their routes in advance and avoid unnecessary travel near the NESCO complex during peak hours.
Complete traffic restrictions and alternate routes

As per the advisory, vehicles will not be permitted on the stretch between Mrinaltai Gore Junction and NESCO Gap, except for emergency services, local residents, and VIP convoys.
The right turn from Mrinaltai Gore Junction towards NESCO Gap via Ram Mandir Road will remain closed throughout the event duration. Similarly, the service road from Hub Mall to Jaycoach Junction will also be shut.
Traffic moving from NESCO Gap to Mrinaltai Gore Junction will function as a one-way route. Motorists approaching from the Ram Mandir direction are advised to use alternate routes via Mrinaltai Gore Flyover, Mahananda Dairy WEH South Service Road, Jaycoach Junction, and JVLR Junction.
Vehicles coming from JVLR Junction can proceed toward Powai via JVLR or merge onto the Western Express Highway (WEH) using the service road to access the main carriageway.
The Mumbai Traffic Police have urged citizens to stay alert to updates and follow diversions indicated on signboards and digital displays across the area.
Key roads declared as no-parking zones

To prevent congestion and maintain clear movement corridors for dignitaries, several arterial roads have been declared no-parking zones. These include parts of the Western Express Highway (northbound and southbound), NESCO Service Road, Ghas Bazaar Road, Vannrai Police Station Service Road, and Ashok Nagar Service Road.
Towing teams and on-ground officers will be deployed to ensure compliance. The police have also appealed to motorists to use public transportation where possible and to follow instructions from personnel stationed near restricted areas.

Maritime Week 2025: India’s push toward sustainable shipping

The India Maritime Week 2025 serves as a platform to showcase India’s maritime growth agenda under the theme of Sustainable Maritime Growth and Blue Economy Strategies. The week-long conclave aims to strengthen India’s port infrastructure, enhance coastal trade, and promote green shipping technologies.
With Prime Minister Modi leading the discussions at the CEO Forum, India is expected to announce key initiatives focusing on cleaner energy in shipping, advanced logistics corridors, and resilient global supply chains. The event reinforces India’s vision to become a maritime hub connecting trade routes across Asia, Africa, and Europe.

Advisory for citizens and commuters

Traffic authorities have assured that all emergency services, including ambulances and fire vehicles, will be granted smooth passage despite the restrictions. Residents and office-goers in Goregaon and nearby areas are encouraged to leave early, use alternative routes, and stay updated through official Mumbai Traffic Police social media channels and helpline services.
The Mumbai Traffic Police emphasized public cooperation as crucial to ensuring security and logistical efficiency during the Prime Minister’s visit.
As Mumbai welcomes global maritime leaders, the city’s roads, ports, and people once again prepare to demonstrate the resilience, discipline, and coordination that define India’s financial capital.
